“Nobody asked us to stand in a line. Our name was already on the list.”
A household on the distribution list

We respond to hunger through practical assistance while seeking longer-term solutions to vulnerability and food insecurity.
Food is a basic need, not a reward for religious participation.
Food assistance uses transparent criteria based on need. Households are identified and assessed rather than selected by whoever queues loudest or longest, so the elderly, the unwell and the distant are not excluded.
Relief is the first step, not the whole programme. Where it is appropriate we move with a household from relief to support, education, skills, livelihood and greater stability, and we work to avoid creating unnecessary dependency.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.”
We publish outcomes rather than activity counts, and we do not publish a number we cannot evidence.
Every story here is recorded on a visit, read back in the person’s own language, and published only once they sign off.
