Accountability
Ethical storytelling
Stories help communicate impact. They must never exploit suffering to do it.
A person's pain is not our fundraising property.
All commitments

- Give participants control over how their story is represented
How we describe people
We use language that recognises strength, agency, dignity, choices, capability, resilience and hope. We say participants, community members, families we serve. We avoid describing people as helpless, hopeless, or as objects of charity, and we do not use poverty as an identity.
This page states our commitments. The signed policy document still needs board approval and upload — do not describe it as published until that is done.
